The Regional Policy Statement (RPS) identifies significant resource
management issues for the Wellington Region, and includes objectives,
policies, methods, and the environmental results anticipated.
The concept underlying the RPS is "sustainable management". This
means managing the resources of the Wellington Region in a way which
provides for the needs of future generations, as well as for the needs of
